As the Mayor of the Borough of Greencastle, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, I welcome you to our website. The original Town was laid out in 1782 by Revolutionary War Colonel John Allison after receiving some 360 acres from his Father, William Allison. Greencastle was incorporated as a Borough in 1805.

Whether Greencastle is your lifelong home or you are coming here for the first time, I encourage you to visit this historic community often. Shop our downtown. Visit the Allison Antrim Museum. Take a stroll through the Jerome R. King Playground or a walk through any of our beautiful neighborhoods. Stop by our Chamber of Commerce office and say hello. Greencastle is a great place to live, work, grow, be educated, and raise a family.

The Triennial Greencastle-Antrim Old Home Week, scheduled for August 2025, and a significant number of other community events make Greencastle a wonderful place to live and visit. Many citizens volunteer in the non-profit organizations that make our community strong. Our Borough employees are dedicated to providing high quality services for our citizens and visitors.

We hope you find the information on our web-site useful.

On behalf of the Council and Staff…THANK YOU for visiting.

Sincerely,
Ben Thomas, Jr.
Mayor
Borough of Greencastle
